Contacting your local CCR&R is the best first step! They can help answer your questions, point you to resources, and support you through your next steps.
Learn about your options
Start by thinking about what age you want to serve and the type of care you want to provide. This could include:
License-Exempt Care
Care for three or fewer children, not including your own
Located in the home of the child, your own home, or another child care facility
Registered Family Child Care Home
Certified to care for up to 10 children
Located in your own home
Certified Family Child Care Home
Certified to care for up to 16 children
Located in a building constructed as a single-family dwelling
Certified Child Care Center
Certified to care for 13 or more children
Located in a building constructed as other than a single family dwelling
